Richard Pumphrey

Dr Richard Pumphrey has been Consultant Immunologist in Central Manchester since 1977. Since 1992 he has had a focal interest in severe acute allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) and maintains the UK register of fatal anaphylactic reactions. Although he retired from routine NHS work in 2006, his research on fatal anaphylaxis continues. He co-chaired the Resuscitation Council's working group that recently published "Emergency treatment of anaphylactic reactions: guidelines for healthcare providers".
