Richard Vincent BSc, MD, FRCP, FESC, AKC
Richard Vincent was appointed Consultant Cardiologist in Brighton in 1979 with a particular interest in resuscitation and acute coronary disease. His subsequent involvement with the local universities resulted in his founding the Trafford Centre for Graduate Medical Education and Research at Sussex followed by Brighton’s Postgraduate Medical School. In 2000 he became one of the founding authors of the joint universities’ / NHS proposal to form an undergraduate medical school locally. Following the Government’s approval he became intensely involved with many aspects of the school’s development and operation. Its first cohort of doctors started their F1 posts in August 2008….
